Setwise Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 5, 2026

Setwise is made by Overlord Game Design, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information Setwise handles, and what we do and don’t do with it.

The short version

  • You can use Setwise without an account. Your collection is stored on your phone.
  • If you create an account, the only personal information we collect is your email address.
  • No ads. No analytics. No tracking. We don’t sell or share your information for advertising.
  • You can delete your account and its cloud data at any time.

Information that stays on your device

When you use Setwise without an account, nothing about you is sent to us. Your device stores:

  • your collection (which games you added, and how many copies of each card version you own),
  • your decks (the cards in each deck, and the deck names and notes you type),
  • your settings (the sets you chose to hide, your playset size),
  • a history of changes to your collection (which card version changed, the old and new count, and when),
  • any backup files you choose to create. You decide where those files are saved or sent. Backup files contain your collection, decks and settings only (no email address or account details) and are not encrypted,
  • a few automatic safety copies of your collection, which the app saves on your device before your collection first syncs with an account and before a restore replaces it.

Deleting the app removes this information from your device. On Android, if you have turned on your phone’s own backup to your Google account, Android may keep a copy of this information in your Google account and bring it back when you reinstall the app. That copy is held by Google under your account and your Google settings; it is not sent to us. Backup files you saved or sent elsewhere are not affected.

Information we collect if you create an account

An account is optional and is only used to sync your collection between your devices.

  • Email address. You sign in by typing a one-time code we email you. We don’t ask for a name or a password, and we don’t store passwords.
  • Your collection and settings. To sync them, we store on our servers the same collection and settings described above (game and card-version identifiers, counts, the time of each change, hidden sets, playset size and added games), linked to your account.
  • Sign-in session. A sign-in token is stored in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android) so you stay signed in.

The change history described above is currently kept only on your device.

Information collected automatically

  • Like most online services, the companies that host our servers record standard technical logs when your app connects, such as IP address, time of the request, and app or device type. We use these only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
  • Setwise does not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or browsing activity, and contains no advertising or analytics software.

How we use information

  • to sign you in and send your sign-in code,
  • to sync and back up your collection across your devices,
  • to keep the service secure and working, and to respond if you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or send marketing email.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run Setwise for us, and only so they can provide that service:

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it handles
SupabaseHosts our database and sign-in systemEmail address, synced collection and settings, technical logs
ResendSends the sign-in code emailEmail address, the email itself, delivery logs
Apple and GoogleDistribute the app through their storesYour download and any purchase, under their own privacy policies

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if the business is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Game publishers do not receive your information. Card information shown in Setwise comes from each game’s official source; nothing about you or your collection is sent to any publisher.

Where your information is stored

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Setwise from another country, your information is transferred to and processed there.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your email address and your synced collection and settings are deleted from our servers. Technical logs and backups held by our providers are removed on their normal schedules.

Your choices and rights

  • Use Setwise without an account. Everything except sync works offline.
  • Delete your account. In the app, go to Account and choose Delete account, or email us at the address below and we’ll delete it. This permanently removes your account and its cloud data. The collection stored on your phone stays until you delete the app.
  • Get a copy of your data. In the app, go to Account, then Backup and restore, and create a backup file, or email us.
  • Correct or ask about your information. Email us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete or object to its use, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We honor these requests wherever you live.

Children

Setwise is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, per-user access rules in our database so that one account can never read another’s data, and secure storage of your sign-in session on your device. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
